The attorneys of our Estate Planning and Probate Group provide counseling in the planning of a client's legacy, the administration of trusts and estates, and the representation of clients in Probate Court.

In counseling clients in estate planning, our attorneys focus on communication with the client in order to learn the unique personal, financial, and legal circumstances of each person and family. Each estate plan is designed to achieve the client's unique objectives. Our attorneys advise clients in estate planning strategies with consideration for taxation, asset protection, and avoidance of probate. Estate planning may also involve the creation of a decision making process for health care or "end of life" decisions through the use of powers of attorney, living wills and other devices. Our attorneys create estate plans to meet the client's goals and provide peace of mind.

Difficult decisions follow the death of a loved one. Our attorneys provide experienced guidance in carrying out the wishes of a deceased family member through the administration of their estate or trust. Our firm represents executors, administrators, guardians, attorneys-in-fact, and trustees in carrying out their duties. We assist fiduciaries with the collection, valuation and transfer of assets, the preparation of required estate tax and fiduciary income tax returns, and tax planning.

Our attorneys also work with clients in the planning and administration of guardianships for family members with special needs.

Our attorneys are experienced in probate litigation where disputes arise. Our attorneys represent fiduciaries, beneficiaries and interested family members in will contests, guardianships, breach of fiduciary duty cases, and actions for the interpretation of wills and trusts.
