Our firm represents creditors and debtors, businesses and individuals in all stages of insolvency and bankruptcy situations. Our attorneys have experience on both sides of financial distress cases, and enjoy an excellent working relationship with the other members of the Cincinnati bankruptcy community.

Our firm works with troubled businesses to craft solutions to financial problems. Our attorneys are experienced in negotiating private debt restructuring, lender forbearance agreements, alternative credit arrangements, and other private work-outs. We defend clients in collection lawsuits and complex financial litigation. Our attorneys also work in non-bankruptcy legal proceedings such as receiverships, assignments for the benefit of creditors, creditors' bills, Article 9 sales, and other orderly liquidations that may be employed to resolve debt situations. Our attorneys counsel business clients in the planning and filing of Chapter 11 bankruptcies, and our firm serves as debtor's counsel in large and small business reorganization cases. The attorneys in our Bankruptcy & Insolvency Group help businesses to survive and resolve financial crises.

Our B & I Group also works with creditors to protect property rights and recover on claims against others. Outside of bankruptcy, our attorneys counsel clients about customer insolvencies and provide the full range of collection services including litigation and foreclosure. Our firm represents creditors in bankruptcy in consumer and business cases, liquidations and reorganizations. Our attorneys also represent lenders, creditors, and creditors committees in bankruptcies. Our representation of creditors regularly includes preference avoidance actions, lease/executory contract assumptions/rejections, reclamations, recovery of administrative claims, Section 363 sales, proofs of claim, and adversary proceedings. In personal bankruptcy cases, we represent creditors in presenting claims, objections to discharge, and actions for relief from stay. Our firm has special expertise in cases of debts incurred through fraud or misrepresentations.

Our bankruptcy practice is focused on business clients, and therefore, we do not handle personal bankruptcies.
